Unlike other luxury inns, The Phineas Swann is very pet-friendly, and we look forward to making your next Vermont vacation special for both you and your pet. Our Carriage House Suites and River House Suites are perfectly equipped to accommodate guests with pets.

Rooms in our Main Inn, including the Common Areas, maintain a pet-free environment for the comfort of our guests who may be allergic or perfer a pet-free atmosphere.

We have a number of common areas at The Phineas Swann that are exclusively for use of our guests at the inn. This is one of the many things which set us apart from other inns and bed and breakfast accommodations!

Common Rooms in the Main Inn maintain a pet-free environment for those who may be allergic or prefer a pet-free atmosphere. We invite pet-owners to enjoy our Trout River Sitting Area with their pets.

Rooms in the Main Inn

Rooms in the Main Inn feature framed flat panel plasma televisions with DVD players (with wireless headphones for late night viewers), internet hookups, private phones with free long distance in the USA and Canada, and ensuite private bathrooms. Rooms in the Main Inn are also fully air-conditioned with individual room controls—either for warmth in the winter or coolness in the summer. Plus we have a free DVD library with well over 300 titles.

The Green, Red, and Blue Rooms in the Main Inn maintain a pet-free environment for those who may be allergic or prefer a pet-free atmosphere.

Carriage House Suites

Housed on the site of this historic property's original barn, the Carriage House was completely renovated in 2005 to form two luxury suites: our Honeymoon Suite and the Bulldog Suite. 

The Carriage House Suites are pet-friendly.

Rates:
$149 - $499 per night for Honeymoon Suite, depending on season and holidays.

River House Suites

This adorable lumber worker cottage is right on the Trout River, so if the sound of gently rushing water disturbs you, you may want to stay in a different room. The River House cottage has two separate self-service, one-bedroom apartments with private kitchens, Jacuzzi tubs, and cast iron gas log fireplaces.

The River House Suites are pet-friendly.

Internet Access and Wi-Fi

Every guest room is equipped with a hard wired Internet port with commercial bandwidth, plus we have Wi-Fi access throughout the entire propert with separate transmitters located in each of our buildings. If you would rather not bring your laptop, there is a laptop connected and ready for guest use sitting on our antique school master’s desk in the front lobby.

We may be in a rustic part of the state and living in an 1880’s farmhouse but we fully understand that we live in the 21st century!. For those wishing to escape all the technology, we hope we have it sufficiently concealed! 

Last but not least, while we know you have access, we certainly aren’t going to be telling your boss!

Courtesy Phones

All of our rooms have private phones which are FREE. You may phone anywhere in the US and Canada by simply picking up the phone and dialing. (We hope you understand that to make an international call outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use a calling card.)

Incoming Calls: During the day, our main number is normally covered to pick up incoming calls and transfer them to your room, but if we are away from the phone, the caller can always be connected directly to your room if you've provided the caller with your room phone extension. In addition, all our room phones have individual message boxes in case you are 'out and about'.
