Dinner at the Inn 
The Phineas Swann is pleased to offer guests of our Inn a gourmet meal by reservation. Parties of two or more may choose from our current menu of Appetizers, Salads, Entrees, Desserts and Wines. These meals are served in the Dining Room of the Main Inn. Guests of our River Front Suites may order Family Style meals and enjoy them in their own kitchens.
If you don't find your favorite item on the menu, please give us a call. Special orders are always welcome and we will do everything we can to make sure your "evening in" is as memorable as possible.
Restaurants in the Montgomery Area
If you choose to venture out there are several restaurants in the Montgomery area to choose from. Most of these eateries are within walking distance, as we are located right on Main Street.
These restaurants are open most of the year, and in the Winter Ski Season and Fall Foliage Season, there are approximately 15 other restaurants open within an a half hour drive of our front door. We are more than happy to make reservations at any of these restaurants for you, which we recommend on weekends, as they often fill up during the high season months.
Bernie's
Right down the road—Bernie's is one of our favorite restaurants in town. It's famous for its Mexican nights.
Trout River Traders
Right across the street from Bernie's is the Trout River Traders, which serves "light" lunches during the day - sandwiches, soups and snacks, although many of guests have suggested that their hearty soups and chili might seem "light" to Vermonters, but would fare as a pretty hearty lunch for the less than robust. There is also a full bar available.
In the evenings, "The Traders" offer a full dinner menu. Their evening meal is a bit more lavish than the fare at Bernie's, but for change and a treat, we feel it can't be beat! Tosca, who runs the kitchen, is the premier caterer in our nothern area of Vermont.
The Lodge Pub-n-Grille
Located at Jay Peak, just minutes away, the Pub serves everything from pizza to Steak Alfredo. On Fridays and Saturdays there is either a DJ or a band. And, you can enjoy the fireplace and splendid mountain views.
The Snowshoe Pub
At the end of the road The Snowshoe is a great place for a casual meal where you can hang out with the locals and watch the latest games on their wide screen television or shoot a game of pool.
The Belfry
We also are very fond of the casual Belfry Restaurant, located in a renovated mid-1800's school house a few miles up the road on the way to Jay Peak Ski Resort. Chantal is the owner and chef there, and we are sure you will love her cooking as much as we do!
