Our Pet-friendly Vacation Details…

• The Phineas Swann Bed and Breakfast Inn is pleased to welcome dogs of all sizes and breeds, from Great Danes to Chihuahuas. Bulldogs are especially welcome.

• There is no per night charge for your pet

• Our inn does not charge a pet damage deposit, however we hope you understand that any damage that may be caused by your pet is your responsibility (though we have yet to need to charge for damage)

• The Phineas Swann Bed and Breakfast Inn does not charge an extra cleaning fee for visitors who travel with pets, although we do ask you to remember the hard work of the cleaning staff and figure an extra gratuity if there is a lot of pet hair to clean

• Dogs are invited to stay in our Honeymoon Suite, Bulldog Suite, and the First Floor and Second Floor Suites of our River House Cottage, our largest and most luxurious units

• Rooms in the Main Inn, including the Common Areas, maintain a pet-free environment for the comfort of our guests who may be allergic. Guests with pets are invited to enjoy our Trout River Sitting Area.

• Well-behaved pets may stay unattended in rooms, but please consider crating your pet if your canine friend tends to be mischievous or is likely to hop on the bed

• However, we do have to insist that dogs must be crated or taken out with you for the day if you would like housekeeping services during your stay

• The Phineas Swann Bed and Breakfast Inn welcomes guests with more than one dog – the more the merrier!

• Dogs are invited to swim in the Trout River that borders our property and hike on nearby hiking trails

• Dog beds, food and water bowls, pet-sitting services, dog-walking services, special dog towels, and dog treats are available. Please tell us your needs when making your reservation so we can be prepared to accommodate your pet in regal style

• For an extra special vacation with your pet, consider our Deluxe Dog Spa Package, which includes accommodations in our luxurious Honeymoon Suite, a pet massage by a licensed massage therapist, pet grooming and nail clipping, dog-walking services every 3 hours, bed-sleeping permission, a bag of deluxe dog treats, and more!  During the Winter, try our Pet Perfect Ski Package - this wonderful package includes lodging, breakfast (with a Doggie Bag treat for your pet), ski tickets to Jay Peak, dog-walking services, and a lot of TLC for your baby while you ski the slopes.

Our room even had a dog bed with a rawhide chew on it at check in!! They walked our dog while we were skiing at Jay Peak, and even let our little terrier Kinsey stay in their owners quarters with them when we went out to dinner."

"Dogs Welcome"

A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in a Midwest town he planned to visit on his vacation. He wrote: "I would very much like to bring my dog with me. He is well-groomed and very well behaved. Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?"

An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who wrote: "Sir, I've been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I've never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware or pictures off the walls. I've never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. And I've never had a dog run out on a hotel bill. Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you, you're welcome to stay here, too."
