The Inn and all the other accommodations are simply fabulous. Everything is so tastefully appointed. The breakfasts were superb, as was the afternoon tea and all the goodies served with the tea. We can see this has been a true labor of love for both of you. Every person we spoke to in the town (and even people with whom we spoke while skiing at Jay Peak) had only great things to say about the Inn itself and about both of you personally. Let me first say that our stay at the Phineas Swann around St. Patrick’s Day was absolutely wonderful, and that Montgomery Center is now a prime destination on future VT. itineraries solely because of your inn. I have never in my life (relatively young as it is) seen such incredible attention to detail in any endeavor, and John, your quiche is enough to make me charter a breakfast flight up from Coventry!! Just wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay in the River House at Phineas Swann last week. We found the service to be excellent and appreciate the friendliness you both showed to us. It is obvious that you have put a lot of energy, thought and care into your renovation of the facility, and we certainly wish you great success. If one tours the house as I did with my class a week or so ago, and neglects to spend the night as we did last night, they would miss the finest detail at your establishment---you. The detail and decor are no doubt impeccable--nothing is left to chance. However, it is your treatment of your guests that leaves us, well, not wanting to leave. Our stay was/is truly a wonderful experience. We feel as though we’ve been treated like royalty, yet we feel right at home. See you soon!!

All prejudice aside from being old friends, Phineas Swann is the best B and B we’ve ever stayed in. We are so going to try replicating the beds when we get home.
