Here are some common questions and answers about the Phineas Swann Inn & Spa.   Have a question of your own? Contact us and we’ll be happy to help out!

Q. Which rooms or suites are dog-friendly?

A. Our six luxury suites are dog-friendly:

Q. What types of pets can stay at your inn?

A. The Phineas Swann is a dog-friendly inn.

Q. Is there a per night fee to have my dog stay at the inn with me?

A. Not per night. The Phineas Swann charges a one-time $25 fee for allowing your dog to stay at the inn with you. If you bring more than one dog, there is a flat fee of $50 per stay for each additional dog up to three.

Q. Do dogs stay in the rooms with their owners, or do you have an on-site kennel?

A. We believe dogs are a part of our guests’ families, and as such, they stay in the rooms.  We do not have an on-site kennel. Our staff is very happy to take your dogs for walks while you’re gone for the day simply for a gratuity. You can make arrangements each day at breakfast.

Q. I’m allergic. Does that mean I can’t stay with you?

A. Not at all. We keep our Main House dog-free for guests like you. Our Red, Green and Blue Rooms have never had a dog in them. Even if you stay in our suites, you’d discover our deep-cleaning makes allergies no problem!

Q. Who was Phineas Swann?

A.That’s a popular question. Phineas Swann was a founder of the town of Montgomery. His signature is on the document requesting a town charter from the then-governor of Vermont in 1780. Fun fact: He signed his name with one “n.” It was recorded both ways (spelling wasn’t a big deal in the 18thcentury). The B&B was named in honor of him when it was created in 1986.

Q. Do we have to share a bathroom?

A. This is one of the biggest myths of B&B’s that’s hard to break. Every guest at the Phineas Swann has their own private bathroom, all but one en suite.

Q. When is Check-In/Check-Out?

A. You can check into your room any time after 3 pm. Unlike other hotels and resorts in the area, your room will be ready at 3.
