Being A Good Neighbor (Blizzard Edition)

Let's be honest: We're used to moving large amounts of snow here in Vermont. Jay Peak boasts and average of 380+ inches a year, and we're already at that point with two more months of winter to go.

So when Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut got buried under 30-plus inches of blizzard earlier this week, the Green Mountain State decided to be a good neighbor and help out. The Vermont Agency of Transportation sent more than a dozen snowplows south to help clear out neighbors stuck in their homes and unable to get around the Bay State, Ocean State, and Nutmeg State.

Part of the fun is keeping track of where Vermont’s snowplows are located - and the unique names the schoolchildren of Vermont have given them.

Want to join in? Check out the Plowfinder at https://plowtrucks.vtrans.vermont.gov/. All Vermont’s plows are tagged with GPS devices, so you can see exactly where the plows are throughout our state. If you scroll down to the Boston or Providence area you can spot where they’re digging out our friends. Enjoy!
