Most of our room remodels go unmentioned and without major fanfare. But our remodel of our popular Black Bear Suite deserves some attention.
To begin with, the remodel expands the suite from one bedroom to two bedrooms. The dining room wasn’t often used, so we shifted our living room so guests have a better view of the back deck and the beautiful Trout River. Then we took the old living room space and made a lovely second bedroom, complete with queen-sized bed and an in-room gas log fireplace.
We also took the existing bedroom and upgraded it from a queen to a king bed. By removing a non-much-used vanity we actually expanded space in the room, despite putting in the bigger bed.
To finish it off, we put a rolling barn-style door in for the new bedroom, and repainted the beadboard into a much more pleasing color.
Check out the photos and let us know what you think. When you factor in the queen sleeper sofa in the living room, the suite will accommodate up to six guests, but we think it’s more enjoyable with just two or four! Come check it out on your next stay!
